I Prythee Take a Stride

*The story opens with a news reporter broadcasting live from a city street, talking about a recent thwarted robbery of a local store.*
Reporter: ...and so the police had found the two perpetrators unconscious nearby. We managed to interview the owner, however, he couldn't say much about how this was stopped, or who did it, only that whoever did had displayed some peculiar tricks, and an equally peculiar attitude, leaving with bags of merchandise the clerk attested "she" paid for. Could this be a vigilante on the rise, or someone in the wrong spot, at the right time? Stay tuned for more.

*Elsewhere, a totally unrelated girl could be seen watching the news from a TV by another store's window, coughing a few times as she stands there.*

???: Talk about unwarranted attention... What's with this city? At least I got my groceries, I guess. Hope the rest of today goes better...

MEANWHILE...

*Sal turns to Guillermo*

Sal: So...another one got there first?

Guillermo: Yeah.

Sal: Well...someone is making our job easier. That's good...right?

Guillermo: Not necessarily.

Van: it seems that the person may be on the line of good and evil

*Sal nods*

Sal: Maybe Vibes can help track her down.

ELSEWHERE...

*Mega Fox grins as he monitors the situation*

Mega Fox: Interesting...a potential new recruit...

*In the meantime, still out in the city, the girl approaches a newspaper stand, buying an issue an eyeing it while walking*

???: Something about crimes, statistics, precious things, upcoming fairs, economic inflation... Kinda weird-cough-topics. Maybe I'm too used to smaller towns to live in...

*From nearby,  she suddenly hears windows crashing, a small group of criminals carrying bagfuls of gems from a jewelry dashing through the street... and towards her!*

Thief: Outta the way, all of you!

???: ...eh? What? Oh no, not again...

*the thief shoves past the girl and keeps running* stupid kid!

*The girl is easily shoved off the thieves' way, stumbling, but quickly regaining her footing. Frowning, she reaches her arm out in the direction of a lamppost, swinging it back down... and with it, the lamppost itself, crashing down in front of the running rascals, and right onto someone's stand as well*

???: Ugh--go trip and break your faces. Stop ruining my day!

*Vibes speeds in just as this happens*

Vibes: Whoa.

*sirens can be heard closing in*

*Vibes sighs*

Vibes (thought): OK one thing at a time. First, stop this thief.

???: W-Who...

*she gazes at the approaching Vibes, confused for a second before she decides to use the commotion coming from the thieves having almost comedically over the lamppost as an opportunity to walk in the opposite direction, away from it*

???: Whoever *huff* that is, she can take care of it. I'm out.
???, thinking: Couldn't even try to snatch some of whatever they were carrying, darnit...

*Vibes speeds past the thief*

Vibes: SPEED MODE!

*Vibes grabs the thief*

Vibes: Do not pass go, do not collect $200!

*the thief squirms against Vibes' grasp all too futilely.*

Thief: D-Darn it, AK Girl, if it weren't for you and that kid, we could've gotten scot-free!

*Vibes raises an eyebrow*

Vibes: OK, where did "the kid" go? I'd like to have a chat with her.

Thief 2: screw you ak girl

*Vibes laughs*

Vibes: OK I was being polite, I am psychic and can get the info out of your knucklehead anyway.

Thief 1: *groan* Beats me why some passerby's that important to you anyway.

*the criminal doesn't seem to know where did that girl go other than "away"; his mind might have caught a passing glimpse of her, if anything, the teal hair and petit body her more obvious characteristics.

Elsewhere, the girl herself is a fair ways away by now, sitting by a bus stop to rest*

???: That wore me out a bit. I need to look into housing somewhere less noisy. Geez, what a day...

*Vibes sighs as she slams the thief down*

Vibes (thought): OK...I've got a visual on what this person looks like. Getting a weird vibe about this.

MEANWHILE...

*Mega Fox's eyebot follows the girl*

Genesis: We have tracked her signal.

Mega Fox: Ready the megabots, bring her to me.

*at the same time the bus arrives and felix gets off, in his human form, with silver hair, a long sleeve shirt, and jeans* felix: ok so that should be the groceries mom needs *sees the teal haired girl* oh. Hello. Uhm....nice hair color

*unaware of either side's intentions, she merely waits for the bus... or would be, had she not been distracted by the guy greeting her*

???: Eh? Oh, hello, thank you...? *she looks up at Felix, slightly confused before her expression eases* Same to you, mister. Don't mind me, I'm just resting after walking so much...

Felix: youve been walking all over the city?

*The eyebot tracks them, just keeping out of sight*

Mega Fox: Ah yes, get hold of that one as well.

ELSEWHERE...

*Vibes is with Guillermo and Sal*

Vibes: So no joy, all I got was a mental image of a girl with a cool hairstyle.

Guillermo: How can you be sure that this girl is who we're looking for?

Vibes: I can feel it. Whoever this is, they've got something going on psychic wise.

Sally: we best split up and search

*Vibes nods*

Vibes: Yeah...we can't let Mega Fox get to her first.

Sally: right. *flies off*
