Getting the band back together (for the first time)

*As they continue arguing Lilith turns her attention to Van going to the circus*

Van: ....can't i try to fix the dang space gate? *enters the tent*

*He looks and sees Quicksilver throwing targets at Hawkeye, both wearing campy costumes*

Van: ok. i'll need sal to finish Natasha before we can get Clint but the twins i may be able to get now

*He looks round to see Wanda teleport behind him*

Van: What the...?

Van: please don't do that!

*Wanda eyes Van suspiciously*

Wanda: I haven't seen you here before.

Van: probably not

*Quicksilver skids round*

Quicksilver: Who is this?

Van: my name's Van. i'm here to fix the time line

*Wanda laughs*

Wanda: OK, this clown has a very weird routine.

Van: i'm not a clown!

*Quicksilver looks confused*

Quicksilver: I don't get it.

Van: you know the whole "dont mess with the past or catastrophic changes to the present* in every time travel story? basically that. you 2 are hero........uhm.....crime fight..........you 2 are people savers in the real time line.

Scarlet Witch: why the hesitation?

Van: ....100% honesty you kinda flip back and forth on the hero villain thing. you guys are good but when your dad magneto calls.....

*Wanda and Quicksilver both look at each other*

Wanda: Are we allowed to talk about that?

Van: i think for this story it's best we skip over it.

*Wanda nods*

Wanda: So...why should we be heroes?

Van: well avengers tower, much less annoying carnival crowds, uh wanda gets a husband....

*Wanda and Quicksilver laugh*

Wanda: OK if you are lying you've thought this through.

Van: think anyone can come up with something this elaborate on the spot?

*Clint looks at him*

Clint: I believe him.

Wanda: What do you mean?

Clint: Read his eyes, all the usual body signals, he's not lying.

Van: oh. well guess i don't need to double back for you then

*Wanda turns around*

Wanda: You are prepared to trust a total stranger on this?

*Clint nods*

Clint: Yes. Whatever this is, it's bigger than us.

Van: well that went well. wonder how the others are doing
