Burden of Failures

*recent events have been rough on Louis, what with everything that happened with Romana... a letter on his table from Damien, one of his old traveling buddies, made things worse, so now he has a lot of doubt in his mind*

*Vibes smiles, humming a tune*

Vibes: I talk to my baby on the telephone long distance, honk honk ding dong hello!

*sitting at the table, looking over the letter again*

Van: *walks in looking at his phone* hey louis can i get your help with....*looks up* ...something wrong dude?

Huh? Oh... hey, Van... just got some news from Damien and the others... *sets down the letter*

Van: *looks at it*

*the letter reads that Damien, Mai, and Jale went on a big mission recently that went badly; the monster was tougher than they thought, and it cost them; Damien lost the use of his legs, Mai lost an arm, and Jale was in a coma... their days as adventurers were over*

*Vibes tries to look round*

Van: Why are you looking? I thought you were psychic.

Vibes: I know but...just tell us what it is Louis!

Van: .....it's pretty bad V.

*Vibes groans*

Vibes (sarcastic): Oh yes because nothing dark ever happens to me.

...it's my fault... I should have been there...

*Vibes sees Van's look and holds Louis*

Vibes: Seriously Louis talk to me, what's up?

...Mai and Damien were crippled on their most recent mission... and Jale is in a coma... no one knows if he'll ever wake up... the mercs they hired to help them were all killed... and they can never fight again...

*Vibes looks horrified*

Vibes: Wait...maybe I could help them...

You can't heal the physical wounds... it's my fault... if I had gone with them when they asked me to, they'd be better off right now...

*Vibes sighs*

Vibes: We should go see them. At least bring them a care basket or something.

I failed to protect them... I failed to keep Romana away from Mega Fox's plans... *sighs and stands* I need to take a walk...

*Vibes goes to talk to him but Van stops her*

Van: just....we're here when you need us man

*Vibes nods, trying not to cry*

...thank you... *walks outside, with Aegis appearing near Vibes and Van*

Aegis: Master is being very hard on himself... yet he won't listen to me when I tell him otherwise...

*Vibes looks at Van*

Vibes: So...what are we meant to do now?

Van: let him work it out

Aegis: Perhaps that is best for now...

*Vibes sighs*

Vibes: Fair play...That and I meant did you want to go on patrol or summat?
