We....Fucking loved this flick.
ok sure the life foundation CEO guy was a bit meh in terms of villainy and riot got a bit snubbed but i loved how eddie and Venom played off eachother, the fights, the actual SIZE of Venom (i'm not bitter about spiderman 3....much) not to mention it did focus more on what it should have. the origin of eddie and Venom's team up seeing as the circumstances are different than the normal. plus the set up for a sequel.... i'd go into more but i'd get into spoilers

Exactly it's fun, I think the problem is some people are expecting more and more post Black Panther/Infinity War, and sometimes it's okay just to have something that's just fun and enjoyable. Granted, the tone was different from what I expected, but once I got into it the experience was great.
