Wondervixen Poem 1 of 2
Tear Flooded Field
Two curtains of soft, yellow leaves
open to white clouds and blue sky
among vast fields of nice grain sheaves.
Why does such a scene need to cry?
Two salty streams become two falls
that flood and mar nice cotton fields.
Nearby, sharp winds enter black halls
as sadness overwhelms all shields.
Unable to release the past,
it fills a belly in her mind
as from her eyes, dark storms are cast
that her face finds cruel and unkind.
Entire fields, tall trees, and skies
can not contain poor Sally's grief.
Yet, each time Wondervixen cries,
her friends hope to grant her relief.
