Unstable Wackiness

Warehouse District: Afternoon…

Woman: “Sir, I really think we should get the specimen back in its container. The energy readings are off the charts!”

Man: “Not yet! Not when we’re so close to cracking this thing’s power!”

Woman: “Sir, please we have to stop! I… I-I’m starting to feel a bit weird…”

Man: “Stop making excuses… We can’t… give up now…” *voice getting higher* ”I think I’m starting to-!”

*Before the two workers can finish, both they and the building get enveloped in a flash of light…*

Later that Night…

Vibes: *is heading to the Warehouse district* “So… An entire warehouse just… up and vanished?”

G: “Yeah, no traces of theft or anything. It’s just, gone.”

*Sal sighs*

Sal: We'd better be careful, abandoned warehouses round here are usually bad enough.

Vibes: "Yeah, I know. Good thing today's a slow day, otherwise there'd be gangs of baddies roaming around.

G: Girls? *G stops in his tracks and points in front of him* You might want to take a look at this.

*Vibes and Sally look forward... only to find an empty, clean and vacant space in front of them. The only thing occupying the premises being a large billboard with two goofy cartoon mascots on the front*

*Vibes looks at it*

Vibes: OK...getting a really weird vibe here.

Sally: “Anty wasn’t kidding when he said it was gone. But this is kind of strange. A whole warehouse just disappears and then a billboard instantly takes it place hours later? Something isn’t adding up.”

*Vibes clutches her head*

Vibes: I'll see if we can pick something up on the psychic hotline!

*Vibes focuses but doesn’t hear anything. No signs of voices or thoughts filled her head… at least for a while. As she focused she soon caught the sound of something… odd. Something that sounded like a mixture of small giggles, goofy sound effects and nonsensical gibberish.*

*Sal looks confused*

Sal: Vibes?

Vibes: I...I'm getting nothing...well...nothing that makes sense.

G: “Does whatever you’re hearing sound like laughter and nonsense?”

Vibes: “Yeah… How did you-?”

G: “Because I can hear it too.”

*Sally listens closely, and sure enough, the sounds of childish giggling and gibberish can be heard.*

Sally: “So can I… Where is coming… from…”

*As the trio look under the billboard, they soon spot a large grey crystal, sitting underneath, with small colorful symbols and shapes occasionally popping out of it and disappearing…*

*Vibes gulps*

Vibes: What is that?

Sally: "I don't know... I think that might be what we're looking for."

G: "A crystal?"

Vibes: "I think it is..." *Vibes reaches down and picks it up, G and Sally walking over to look*

G: "So, Anty sent us over to pick up... a plain looking rock? Doesn't really seem that important to me."

Vibes: "Don't be so sure about that G. I'm sensing a lot of... "freaky things" coming out of this "rock". Hopefully, once we bring this back to Ant, he'll be able to give some answers for what this is."

*Sal nods*

Sal: We'd better be careful with this then.

Vibes: Right. Let's get going. SPEE-

Sally: I said "Careful"...

Vibes: Pfft... Fine, we'll walk. *she says, putting crystal under her arm as the trio walk off*

*Vibes groans*

Vibes: My feet hurt.

Sal: It's been ten minutes.

G: "Relax, Anty's isn't too far from here anyways."

Vibes: "Fiiiine.... All this for the freaky energy crystal..."

As the trio keep walking, unbeknownst to Vibes, the crystal starts to glow. Surrounded by a clear white aura and a series of odd, colorful symbols as it does.

Sally: "Hmm?" She briefly glances over at the crystal, which loses its glow as she looks at it. "....odd..."

* As they walk they start to glow*
