The Latest Craze

*In the Watchtower, some of the heroes are getting coffee*

Black Canary: I saw another of those weird balloon suits in the street today.

Wonder Woman: I saw five in the street yesterday.

Black Canary: Do you know what's even weirder?

Wonder Woman: Yeah, nobody seems to bat an eyelid.

Black canary: we need to investigate

*Wonder Woman smiles*

Wonder Woman: This looks like a job for...Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

LATER, AT THE METROPOLIS TOY STORE...

*Lois gives a withering look to Clark*

Lois: Are we seriously doing a puff piece about this silly fad?

Clark: Wonder Woman asked us to provide a distraction...

*Lois smiles*

Lois: Why Clark I had no idea you could be so devious...

Clark: why i have no idea what you're talking about

*As Clark and Lois are talking, Wonder Woman and Black Canary are sneaking into the toy shop*

Clark: So how did this balloon suit craze come about?

Manager: Well we got this new supplier, called themselves Hamilton Mator. Not one we normally
deal with but they gave us a really good deal.

Lois: interesting....

MEANWHILE...

*Black Canary and Wonder Woman look through boxes, trying to find the balloon suits*

Black Canary: They've got to be here somewhere.

Wonder Woman: *searches near the back*

*Wonder Woman finds them*

Wonder Woman: OK, so there's nothing beyond the usual security tags on them.

*Black Canary looks over the packaging*

Black Canary: No hallmarks of our typical villains- Toyman, Joker etc.

*Wonder Woman opens a box and looks at the suit*

Wonder Woman: No evidence of enchantment or some form of energy. Maybe this is just a craze?

Black Canary: We should probably go.

Black Canary: right

*They sneak out of the store*

Wonder Woman: that went rather smoothly

*Black Canary nods*

Black Canary: A little too smoothly...

A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER...

*Superman looks awkwardly at Black Canary and Wonder Woman*

Black Canary: So...?

Superman: So what...?

Wonder Woman: You've been a bit awkward today.

Superman: I'm sorry...Sorry I wasted your time. Lois wasn't happy either.

Wonder Woman: it was our idea

*Black Canary looks concerned*

Black Canary: I don't know why, I'm just getting a weird feeling about those suits.

Wonder Woman: as am i

*An alert goes off*

Black Canary: We'd better see what's going on.

Wonder Woman: right

*Flash speeds in*

Flash: Just got a weird thing on the screen- Couple of folks are robbing a store dressed in those
balloon suits.

Wonder Woman and Black Canary: Called it.

Wonder woman: let's go stop them

*They head out in a portal and end up outside the store*

INSIDE...

*Balloon suit people*

Balloon suit 1: Hee hee hee!

Balloon suit 2: This is fun!

Balloon suit 1: loads of fun!

*Wonder Woman and Black Canary talk over while Flash speeds off*

Wonder Woman: OK, we need to handle this carefully and...he's gone isn't he?

Black Canary: Yup.

Wonder woman: just great

*Flash speeds off toward the rubber suit people*

Flash (thought): Two people in rubber suits, fastest man alive. Not exactly a fair fight.

*As Flash speeds in, he is knocked down by one of them*

Balloon suit 1: Hee hee!

*Flash tries to get up, but he's knocked down again*

Flash (thought): What the...?

* The balloon suit people inflate larger, squeezing him between them*

Balloon suit 2: Your super speed is no match for our...ballooniness!

Both: HA! HA! HA!
